Haven 1.8
Sun holding. An impossible moment.
This is the kind of image that can only happen when many things align at the right moment and we are prepared enough for it. Isn't that what luck is about? Being too far from each other to clearly communicate and having so little time to create those images before the sun passes under the horizon, it can be easy to feel the urge to “perform” in the moment. And yet, calm is required to be able to think clearly, stay present, enjoy the unique experience and most and foremost appreciate the sunset spectacle a little bit.
About the Haven collection
As a dance performer, my body is my primary medium of expression. It is also my refuge. Connecting with the world around me & to places within myself is what my journey is about. It’s a tale about nature, patience, magic seeking & presence.
And as an artist, one of my main purposes is to touch, connect with and inspire other human beings.
For many years I made my body a vessel for other creators, mainly choreographers. I was trying to find my voice and my creative output in someone else’s piece, trying to find my way in someone else’s universe. As much as I enjoyed these experiences, I discovered through my years of collaboration with visual artist Eric Paré that I could also want to be the leader of my own artistic expression. Dance photography has been part of our light painting journey since the beginning, in 2014.
