Haven 1.4

Crusty salt under my feet. Surrounded by infinity.

About this picture

This location is undoubtedly among the best environments to capture giant sunsets. The immensity surrounding us can only awake a sense of deep reverence and wonder. During those moments, Eric & I are so far away that it’s pretty much impossible to see each other or to communicate. We both have to be trustful and perform to the best of our abilities within the given circumstances. Most of the time when we create giant sunset pictures, I truly feel like I'm dancing by myself in the desert of salt. It’s a unique and powerful experience that we aim to immortalize.

About the Haven collection

As a dance performer, my body is my primary medium of expression. It is also my refuge. Connecting with the world around me & to places within myself is what my journey is about. It’s a tale about nature, patience, magic seeking & presence.

And as an artist, one of my main purposes is to touch, connect with and inspire other human beings.

For many years I made my body a vessel for other creators, mainly choreographers. I was trying to find my voice and my creative output in someone else’s piece, trying to find my way in someone else’s universe. As much as I enjoyed these experiences, I discovered through my years of collaboration with visual artist Eric Paré that I could also want to be the leader of my own artistic expression. Dance photography has been part of our light painting journey since the beginning, in 2014.
